Why in the living hell do people renting a room think it’s okay to say no visitors and no overnighters???? Like how in the fuck

It probably has something to do with it being their house

Had a completely private apartment in the same house as my landlord - totally separate entrance never had to see her - and she tried to police when I had people over it was wild

The overnight guest thing is probably leaning more towards couples, like you rent out to a single person but then their partner is in your house all the time as well

You want to have visitors & overnighters? Get your own place, if you're choosing to live in someone else's house, you abide by their rules, doesn't matter if you're paying rent, their house, their rules

I kinda get it… I mean if someone is renting out a room most landlords think that the tenant only needs a place to sleep / stay when they’re not working etc… it’s not that hard to respect rules for safety reasons at night but if they don’t allow visitors AT ALL/ in the day time? That’s ridiculous!

If you renting a room out of somebody place, you shouldn’t be having anyone visit overnight. I feel like daytime visitors is ok bit remember you’re renting the room out of convenience and economics. If you wanted to live freely and have company spending the night then you get your own place like a studio/efficiency or a 1 bedroom
