It took me 9 years to win an ARIA. Shit like this doesn’t happen over night- that’s on not allowing the music industry or anyone tell you what music YOU want to make and how YOU want to do it. I’ve put in the hard yards. I’m the first Warnindilyakwa Artist and Female from my community to win an ARIA award and I KNOW my ancestors are shining down on me right now, beaming with pride. That’s the light I’m walking through. For me, It’s always been about the music and community. Honoured. 🙏🏾
