It's not like it's even a historical story. They aren't historical vikings, they're just a somewhat viking-looking society who herd sheep and fight dragons on a small island. Some of them apear to be Scottish, most of the names aren't even vaguely Scandinavian.

You know what, as a Swede and scandinavian i feel a little offended by this. History is history. Vikings were all white, the slaves were from countries along the baltic sea coastline. Sorry but this has got to stop. History is History, Biology is biology and Science is science.

The story is about a kid who meets a dragón... right? So is a fictional story, with fictional characters and historically it's not true. So, there's no need to put this movie in a historical rigor because this events never happened. That means, if I see a black viking I don't f****ing care because IT'S A MOVIE ABOUT A FANTASY. So, let the f****ing be. PERIOD.

I'm gonna throw this out there, because some people tend to forget it. The animated movies still exist. They didn't vanish. You don't like the live action adaptation? No problem! Just stick to the animation. Why would you want to watch a beat for beat live action remake anyway? What does it add?

Are we really a disagreement about the historic accuracy of a movie with dragons? I would understand if Httyd was historic fiction than would make sense but this is a fantasy movie
