Just found out that many photographers in Canada charge extra for photo confidentiality. Basically, if you don’t want your photos shared on their social media or used for marketing, you need to pay an additional fee. As a client, how do you feel about this? Would you be willing to pay extra?

一天內	Mary Freeman maryfreee_	I hate this. There are so many reasons someone may not want their images posted online, fleeing domestic violence, maybe their line of work. Clients have the right to their privacy. We’re providing a service to them and although it’s nice to post our work, our clients are not marketing material for us and should not be charged additional for not wanting their images posted publicly.

I remember about 10 years ago in Ukraine, there was a popular collaboration style called TFP, where photographers and models worked together for free and both could use the photos for their portfolios. But if I’ve paid for the photographer’s work, and they haven’t compensated me for my time or the use of my face, it feels a bit unfair. 🤪
