Main audience has always been Europe so times have always been geared towards that from early morning to European evening. Having said that the previous reply is spot on that they want it at night on the strip with the least possible disruption to Vegas life. It ends up being the worst of all worlds. A US race that frankly people living in US won’t watch. Money money money money

They wanted a night race because of how cool Vegas looks at night. It probably should be pushed up a few hours.

This Sunday I'll be sleeping when Max probably becomes World Champion again so I wish it was on at 1am..

You must live on the east coast. You’re five or four hours ahead of Vegas

Because it’s Vegas. They want the rest of the world (the main viewership) to still watch on the usual days and there’s an 8hr diff between LV & the UK, so we get 6am starts!
