But medicine is expensive, and to operate and function, vet clinics need to charge for services and inventory, medications, staff, etc, that they also pay for. Stop accusing vets & staff that we don’t care. If we didn’t care, we wouldn’t work. If we didn’t work, no one would help your pets at all. Rant done.

Especially if it’s corporate. “Why’s it so expensive!!” Let me ask you, do you have insurance when you go to the DR? Ok, so why doesn’t your dog??? We’re still doing MEDICAL procedures? If we did them at the prices y’all want, the quality would be SHIT and your dog would die anyway. I always gave other options like care credit or grants from the humane society. But there are rules/laws

10 小時內	Laura Setton laura_setton	Yep. So much so that we undercharge and get underpaid. Get pet insurance and care credit. An emergency dog spay for a pyometra is probably $4-5k tops. Full hysterectomy and overnight hospital stay likely. My emergency tubal ligation surgery (one Fallopian tube removed laparoscopically) was $25k. After insurance and adjustments based on my income, $8k. From admittance to discharge I was only there 5 hours.

17 小時內	Laurita Laurita bama.lau	Even crazier, taking my dog for suddenly becoming sick to his stomach and losing weight like crazy in a week but leaving with no answers bcuz he couldn’t see anything in the Xrays and i needed to come back and get a sonogram and see a specialist and take all this medication for the time being while I paid my mortgage payment to him instead of my mortgage… then getting a second opinion from a Mexican vet that did everything the other guy did, immediately diagnosed him with stomach cancer,
