I wouldn’t bring up hwr own offensive experience at the hands of your manager because H.R., but I would plainly and in very certain terms explain that using a name synonymous with Black peoples, regardless of the origin of the name, to express that their children are behaving unfavorably is racist, and that wven if it’s intended to be playful, it perpetuates a deeply harmful and painful stereotype about Black people. And then don’t explain further. You said what you said.

We are all learning it and decolonizing at a different pace. The difference is whether she’s accepting and understanding when someone explains it to her.
