I read that jeselnik article and I felt like guitar comics like me caught strays. Like, Idk man… I write jokes. I am up there doing standup. You may not like my style, but I put in the work. Performing with my guitar isn’t an attempt to “make standup easier”. The opposite, really. It’s harder because you have to get over the initial eye roll of walking up there with it and then get people laughing. It’s the same job. We make people laugh. (Just tired of getting lumped in with non-comics.)
