Bitcoin makes absolutely zero sense as a currency. It would be an atrocious currency given the rapid changes of its value. Let’s call it what it is: financial hot-potato gambling with a huge carbon footprint.

As you mentioned, its volatility makes it useless, plus the fact that you cannot discharge your tax liabilities in it. The people who proclaim it is better than fiat because it is deflationary haven’t actually given pause for thought as to why that would be a terrible idea for a currency.
