It’s literally a requirement by the FAA. A bag of any kind is considered a personal item and should be stowed properly. You don’t like it take it up with the FAA but yall need to stop getting upset when people tell yall to do stuff unless yall gone pay Flight Attendant fines for them

So you think some arbitrary size limit should apply? And the need to go through the cabin and measure all little bags? What’s the big deal in stowing it?! Sheesh.

Because, God forbid you need to evacuate. If you get stuck because of that bag, the flight attendants may not have time to come back and get you since you can’t listen. They have to be able to evacuate 100+ passengers in 90 seconds or less. If you go back and look at recent evacuations just this year, you will see that it’s almost impossible to make that happen because some passengers REFUSE to follow directions.

It's a requirement for you to have the seat belt free if we need to evacuate the aircraft. Safety always comes first for flight attendants and they will keep yelling at you to have it under the seat.

Because it’s their job, because it’s the airlines job, because it’s FAA/ TCs job. Everything you are asked to do has been found to be a contributory in a previous accident, injury or death in previous crashes. You just aren’t that special

You really have no idea, do you? In an evacuation, you get up (that is if you can hear our instructions with your damn earbuds in) and that body bag STRAP gets tangled on an arm rest, or tray table (that someone else who failed to follow instructions did not put up). So you struggle to unhook yourself while you panic and hold back 175 other passengers who could possibly DIE all because of your TINY CROSS BODY BAG SLIGHTLY BIGGER THAN THE PALM OF YOUR DAMN HAND. It’s so annoying, isn’t it?
