In 2023, to help heal my grieving soul, I volunteered to teach English in Laos, pro bono. I had to work (online) in the evening and hold classes in the morning. I barely had time to sleep. Today, I witnessed one of my Lao students host their formation program graduation ceremony. I couldn't be more proud of her. She'll go back to Laos to teach as well. My other Lao and Vietnamese students are now in Italy, working on their higher studies. A part of me wants to be happy.
