Today I was pitched for an SVP role that sounded interesting. Comp checked. Fast growing tech company. I was PERFECT for the role. BUT. They wanted someone who would move to Austin. I told the recruiter: “That is Texas. That’s a hard no from me.” “But Austin is a liberal city” she said. “It’s a beautiful city. But Texas is Texas and is under Texas law. And I’m a woman, a Hispanic woman…”. “Yeah…I understand” She is from NY. We agreed to discuss other roles and ended up the call in great terms 🤷‍♀️
