I did adjust for house prices. That 6x multiple is my inflation adjusted salary compared to the cost of a similar house now. As I’ve pointed out in response to another question, the 3x multiple is a bit misleading because that was of my salary alone - in fact it was 1.5x joint salaries, and today’s multiple would therefore be 3x.
