Got my 2400 modem as part of a Prodigy kit. Pretty sure I had to use my birthday money. Under the guidance over the phone of the guy from the local Radio Shack, I cracked open my Tandy 1000 RLX HD and popped that puppy in. Did Prodigy, until my Dad got the first phone bill in, as the closest connection number was still long distance. Then started with the local BBS using Terminal on Windows 3.0, until one of the members sent me a bootleg copy through the BBS of ProComm Plus overnight.
