Sierra’s website can be a good place to find discounted winter gear. Look for boots that come above your ankles, that aren’t suede and don’t have to be tied every time. Look for a temp rating on the coat (at least down to 15-20F)

Don't forget replacing windshield wiper fluid with cold temp fluid! Moved Up North from TX 4 yrs ago and one of the first switches we had no idea to make.

Start with a coat and then wait. Honestly. We could get 5 feet of snow overnight, or it could snow twice all winter. Get things as you need them and don't worry. BUT, it WILL get cold so have a good jacket and mittens/gloves.

Layer yiur pieces! Shedding is real!

Boots. Most other things are available at the thrift stores. If you’re really lucky, maybe you’ll even find some boots.

Long wool socks and waterproof- ish- shoes. Sneakers and cotton ish socks DO not cut it. Also layers
