Just had a moment at a nearby Safeway. I watched an older 70's white guy who seemed to be a known regular in the store, say to the woman behind the deli counter "they got new girls". She said something like "don't refer to me as a girl" to which he replied "why not? She said "I don't want to be made to feel uncomfortable in my workplace", at which time I was too far away to hear his reply. 1/3 Misogyny

She appreciated it. I get through the checkout and here's old guy again -- shouting to an employee "hey Joe (yes really) I got in trouble, hahaha; they got new girls in the deli one of them doesn't like being called a girl".

And the woman went off about being called a lady. She was dressed and acted like a woman. Please dont come for me, I just need someone to pleas explain why and how "lady" is a bad term when someone is trying to be respectful
