My takeaway from this story was not that we need AI to be diagnosing everyone, but rather that we need to do better at training doctors to be aware of / confront their own anchoring bias. The reason chatgpt did better is that it didn't have an ego that felt defensive when the diagnostic framework suggested it may have been previously wrong.
