My almost no contact Gen X mother called me yesterday (my dad died 6 years ago so she’s the only parent I have left and I have mixed emotions about it). Her opening statement upon answering was “did your daughter get her birthday money?” (Her bday was last month) I said yes she did. “Well she didn’t call me and say thank you. What happened to manners? Something you’re supposed to be teaching them?” She laughed after as if she said a great joke. 🙃

2 小時內	Regina Ammerata regina.thequeen.bee	This is the same mother who will not help with her grandchildren despite offering to drive 3 hours to pick her up and bring her back to our house to stay for a few days (she doesn’t work), who has the capacity to call me once every two weeks and only talk about herself the entire time, never texts me or asks about her grandkids, didn’t bother to show up to my kids cheer tournaments, and much more. If I didn’t already lose a parent, she’d be out of my life.
