I had that happen on an art assignment once but I had discussed the piece with the teacher because I couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong. Once I jogged his memory he gave me the grade, but no consequences for the popular girl who stole my work. I think she got an extension.

Wow, what a find!

In middle school I had a teacher give me a 0 for a creative writing assignment because I "stole it from someone online". After proving that I wrote it myself she relented and gave me a A. Couple of months later she was in the newspaper for winning random huge prize from a writing contest......with a story.....identical to mine.

Someone tried to do this to my friend in middle school, but did such a bad job covering up my friend’s initials with their own. The teacher was not doing anything to rectify the situation and I knew the thief did do this project and just half ass it. So I want and looked where we kept unfinished projects and sure enough I found theirs, and it was indeed terrible. I showed the teacher and he continued to just not care, so I proceeded to show the entire class and just publicly shame the theif.
