this is so stupid, i've had similar stuff happen as a cashier where like a kid i didn't see before and in my head i didn't associate with the parent has gone and put stuff on the counter or taken it off or something and it's always just "oh sorry ma'am, are you two here together? ok all good haha, i didn't see them before." like i guarantee none of ur groceries are worth screaming at a kid over what the fuck
