When students struggle with this, I offer an alternative. You don't find anything funny? Pick a topic everybody else finds funny and go full cynic on it. You didn't enjoy anything you did on vacation? Tell me about the LEAST favorite thing you did or what you wanted to do. No favorite food? Okay. Tell me why you think chitlins are gross 🤣

They can rant so much about a topic that they get really upset and angry. My daughter sometimes even start crying. But it’s not like I’m any different.
