I like this idea, instead of property taxes, when your mortgage is paid off you can purchase public services a la carte. We can add tolls to local roads in the EZ pass style, maybe the fire dept can adopt surge pricing around the holidays. We might even be able to lower taxes as a result of this new revenue model.
