Work the lunch rush as the only person in the drive through and come back to me with that BS! Fast food workers work harder than anyone, just because a job doesn’t require a degree doesn’t mean it’s not work. Also you should stop eating fast food since you don’t think the people who make and serve you food deserve a living wage.

Absolutely right. Let's see, a 16-year-old kid quits school and gets a job flipping burgers. You idiots are demanding he get "a living wage" for that. Meaning, he can afford his own apartment (30% income for rent or mortgage) food, healthcare, child care, a car and a nice vacation, plus monthly spending money for fun. All from a job flipping burgers at 16???? You folks are f'kin nuts if you believe that!

I think it should simply be a matter of if you work and contribute to society for 40ish hours a week, you should be able to live off of it. If we want restaurants, we need restaurant workers, and if they work the same amount of hours as most people, they get to live with that salary. I don’t even understand why there is a debat here.

I don’t think fast food is a lazy job. It was my first job years ago and I did more work there than many jobs where I made more money.

Why shouldn’t fast food jobs be just as prominent, and well paying, as any other job? Just because everyone didn’t choose higher education, doesn’t necessarily make us or our jobs any more important or prominent than anyone else’s. As well, many, not all, with fast food jobs, can only get those type jobs, for whatever reason. If you don’t have the skills, the education, or friends, sometimes it doesn’t happen.
