I’m an adult with 3 kids - one who is a tween, but not “host Christmas dinner” adult. I feel like that level of adult is still far away for me. And I plan on keeping it that way. Anyone else???

My partner and I were discussing this today watching Nativity! Martin Freeman was 2 years younger than him & 2 years older than me and we both felt we seem much younger than he was in that movie 😂 we don’t host dinner either and have a tween, still go to his mum and we’re sleeping over New Year’s Eve

The people doing the hosting notice that you don’t, and probably have feelings about you because of it. They may like hosting, and they may be good at it, but it’s not as fun when it’s a permanent obligation.
