I grew up hearing that Jesus is no longer in the manger and to keep celebrating him that way is unnecessary and because we should celebrate him everyday. And while I agree to the premise of that, the reason why I think seeing him as a baby on Christmas is important is because that's also Mary's son. He was a baby who grew, lived, loved and laughed. Imagine having a baby, nurturing him and then watching him suffer and die for mankind because he's the King of Kings. Son of God and the Son of Men.
