Almost everyone is forced to live in anonymous high rises, and shop in supermarkets nested in shopping malls — and if they passed their Nextdoor neighbor in said supermarket, they’d never know. It’s nearly impossible to walk between two places in KL; everything feels designed for cars. It’s dystopian.
