A lot of younger artists posting about wanting a pure art practice removed from the capitalist system. This is doable in reality, it just means it’s a side project subsidized by your regular job. Getting paid for your art is the most meaningful thing there is for a self-supporting artist. It doesn’t mean you’re a sellout. It means you’re a professional and that’s something to be very proud of
