Okay, women with ADHD. How did you discover you were ADHD? Bonus points if you share books or strategies that have worked for you. Thanks!

Failed out of college after being a "gifted" AP student. When stuff got hard and I had to figure out how to study and balance everything, it turns out that I couldn't.

I was studying Special Educational Needs strategies as an early career teacher 13 years ago, so subscribed to ADDitude magazine for techniques. I began to recognise the difficulties described in me. I undertook a very comprehensive (over 100 questions) online assessment tool, (free back then and is no longer available independently). The results came back with a score that said I was combined type and should seek full diagnosis. I didn't. Read a book called "Odd one Out" and just learning. .

I don't remember. But I did have a book about women and ADHD that I never finished reading. Found it again 10 years later and then went and got tested.
