Schools are failing to teach kids how to fall in love with reading and are way more focused on pushing them through a system of checking boxes to get them ready for the next standardized test. ⤵️

Not if I can help it! My goal as library teacher has been to inspire kids to love reading, and I’m seeing good results now.

And we hate it as much as you do. But also, we are getting kids in our classes who have not been taught to read properly or have special ed needs that haven't been addressed. I'm a middle school sped teacher and. We also are facing parents who don't always value education or reading themselves, and therefore raise kids who don't care either.
