I've seen numerous comments on here and other SM platforms that a typical roof needs replacing every 20 to 30 years. At the risk of falling into "genuine question" territory, I'm guessing this is a localised/regional thing, yes? I'm in the UK, and it's perfectly normal to have >150-year-old lids on houses, with many even older than that.
