Today I’ll be having my last gender affirming lower surgery on the NHS. My pre-assessment (urine, bloods, MRSA swab) was to be done by my GP. They got the blood on the 1st go. They got the urine on the 3rd attempt. They failed to label the MRSA swab 3 times, so yesterday I had to drop everything & drive 4 hours (round trip) to get that sorted (at the hospital that I’m having my surgery), otherwise it would have been cancelled. Surgery is stressful enough without all the extra trips. Thanks GP 🙄
