On my random tv plot holes kick that keeps me up at night, Cougar Town is supposed to be about Jules (Courtney Cox) navigating being recently divorced in her 40s. Being in her 40s is a key plot point. Yet, her son in the show, who she got pregnant with during her first term in college (which she went to straight after high school) is 17-18 when it starts. If she got pregnant her first term college, the oldest she was at the time of birth was POSSIBLLY 20. 20+18 is 38, not 40. Math ain’t mathin…
