The GST Council has decided to apply different GST rates for popcorn, based on its form: Ready-to-eat popcorn: 5% GST Pre-packaged popcorn: 12% GST Caramel popcorn: 18% GST Looks like even popcorn now comes with a side of math. 🍿 At this rate, eating popcorn at the movies might require a tax consultant.
