Yawn... Another 21st century liberal demonizing Robert Moses, so cliche. Glad Moses got us another park.

Moses has been dead for 43 years and out of power for 50. If he “got us” anything there, it took him a hell of a long time.

Yawn ... another person defending Robert Moses 100% without looking at the particular issue at hand. Working my way through the last 200 pages of The Power Broker and it's a complicated story.

FYI many of his projects were racist from this project to the parkways

Fun Fact:Robert Moses took the bustling burrow of the Bronx and decimated it with the New England Thruway cutting the most vibrant neighborhood in half. He could’ve put it underground, but chose not to. The Bronx has never recovered. Fuck him.

I’m from Greenwich Village. I’m glad Moses’ plan to destroy Washington Square Park and an entire neighborhood never happened. No, that wasn’t Moses. It was the VID’s lawyer, a young man named Ed Koch, who did that decades later by handing out J-51 and other tax abatements like candy. The resulting gentrification boom displaced thousands all over the city and enriched developers, including a certain small-handed vulgarian from Queens.
