Correcting foreign, usually Western/American men about my culture has become tiring when inevitably yet another starts some bizarre claim about knowing more than I do because they have a Filipina wife or stayed in the country a while. Someone just claimed that large age gaps are normal in the country when the vast majority of Filipinos tend to marry people they met in school or circles of their peers. My grandparents and parents are the exact same age as their partners. Very weird of them tbh
