As a second time mom, but first time girl-mom to a 5.5 month old - let me just say: I am already SO tired of pink. Everything, literally everything for girls is pink. Why? So people know our daughter is a girl? Why do we care so much? There are reds 🌹, purples 🪻, yellows🌛, even baby blues 🦋 & greens 🥝that are so beautiful & feminine. Why can't we diversify our daughters color palettes & retire this tired tired mindset that girls need to be covered in pink to truly be a girl? ParentsofThreads

Or, “it’s a boy, right?” It got to the point where I asked a few people, “is it because she’s not wearing pink?” And they said yes lol. I’m also sick of it. I choose every other color unless I truly like the pink item.

Shorts are so short (and I have a tall 4yo), some blouses a grown up would not wear. Clothes should be comfortable and allow them to play safely, not being a sexualized mini adult.

I often find things for my daughter in the “boys” section and occasionally but very rarely find something for my son in the “girls” section. I wish they would just label it kids clothes and let parents make up their own minds about what is suitable for their own kids
