@sainsburys please tell me what’s the point of booking a Christmas delivery, ordering all the food I want over a month ago and then on the day of delivery, you tell me some of the items are no longer available? 😡 sainsburys

Because people do shopping inside the shop as well.

It’s annoying nearly every delivery I have this not just at Christmas

As a .com picker for Tesco, we actually had all our special to-order festive bits in a seperate fridge out back so that customers who ordered in advance got what they ordered. Surprised this isn’t a thing in all supermarkets

I stopped doing a delivery at this time because of that.

I literally do not have the patience to on line shop, let alone the Christmas one. I honestly don’t know how people do it. I get so bored

Sainsbury's do this. They are absolutely fucking terrible and after what happened to me a couple Christmases ago I completely stopped ordering with them.

I once worked at a Sainsbury’s in the run up to Christmas, got a stomach bug on the 22nd and called in sick. I arrived at work on Xmas Eve and they fired me on arrival. Because I was “unreliable.”

If it’s large enough to split over 2 orders (£80) then I do 2 orders. the things which will defo be long dated - delivery 3 weeks before hand. Then the other order - 1 week before delivery (so two chances to get stuff, which were out of stock on first order). Never trust them with fresh bread or cream etc - as the dates could be too short.
