I never gave mine pacifiers and they didn't suck their thumbs. I guess I was lucky but after seeing how hard it was for my brother to wean his oldest off a paci and my parents telling me that I was hard to warn off so they told me the fireplace ate it 🙄 and apparently I was terrified of the fireplace for a bit, I just decided not to bother with them. My kids turned out just fine.
