When my brother was transitioning and showing what this patient is doing, I was pretty upset because I wanted help him in some way. The social worker who was with us took me aside and told me something that helped me accept what was happening. She said, "what your brother is going through right now, is that he laboring to give birth to his soul". That made me look at the beautiful way that was passing. He died peacefully.
