Goths rejected industrial as goth music when Nine Inch Nails went mainstream with Closer…many felt that once something is liked by the majority it no longer belongs in the subculture. But today we have people spinning in circles declaring that Darkwave is goth (Boy Harsher) but Skinny Puppy isn’t 🙄
