It’s for the convenience I bet. But trust me on this, when they are remarried to a new guy, they’ll change it to the guy’s last name without question 😅

I did only for my so . Once he was grown I changed back to my maiden name

If you have degrees, liscenses and other legal or certification docs that n your married name, it’s a pain to change them all.

For clout or because they have that right especially if they have children with them. Me personally I’m married but chose to keep my maiden name for the legacy of my late father.

Because it's a pain in the ass. Once my passport is due for renewal, I'll go through the process. First social security office, then DMV, then bank. Such a pain.

Actually I wonder why women still take their husbands last name! That ritual was because women were property of their husband…hence the “obey” line. Women should keep their own names!

I regret taking his last name, I thought everyone did it until I found out none of my friends did it. My husband is from Argentina and his family asked why I took his last name and he told them it’s a U.S. thing. I felt stupid. But I’ve had it so long now I’ll just keep it.
