Why does it feel like you’re dropping after take-off? As the plane takes-off + climbs, pilots reduce the climb rate & engine power for efficiency (reduces engine wear, saves fuel) + reduces noise. This double change of nose lowering and thrust reducing creates an amplified sensation of “dropping,” but the plane is still climbing steadily around 500 feet/min. It’s all about how your body perceives motion!
