This is complex. He may have thought if you are this confident, you’ve done this before. Men don’t like this. At least a life guard who may receive this invite all the time may see it as weary. Men are considered hunters in dating, not females, particularly. A hunter is hungry and he may have thought this, hence memorizing the number. Dating you and seeing you at the pool where he gets picked up all the time maybe a hindrance if you become jealous.

Almost 37 years ago I was a newishly divorced, single Mom. A friend had offered to watch my boys so I could get a much-needed night out. I didn't have a car. I knew my best friend's brother-in-law was staying with them, so I called to see if he wanted to go hear a band play with me. I wasn't expecting much, just a ride and some company.
