The 1970 'Scrooge' is the best movie adaptation of A Christmas Carol. Its songs marginally beat the Muppet versions and although it doesn't have Michael Caine it has amazing turns from Albert Finney, Kenneth More, Anton Lesser and a superb Alec Guinness.
