I wouldn’t send it back either, that is a common scam. I would treat you like every other scammer. Sorry next time double check where you’re sending cash.

That’s almost impossible, to send to a first time recipient you have to already add them to your recipient list. Which means you had to see the info you input match an already existing profile.

I hate Zelle, and don't use it after I got scammed on Apartment.com . No one could do anything. I filed a police report, went to so many bureaus to file a complaint no one did anything. Never again.

You can't blame that on Zelle. Venmo, Cashapp would have done the same thing. You made the error....Zelle even asks you to be sure that you're sending to the correct person and to be aware of scams. You just might have to suck it up on this one as a lesson learned.
