Surprised how few cars it takes to clog the Manhattan crossings. Only 2,489 vehicles from New Jersey through the Holland Tunnel at peak hour, 8-9 am Monday. Compare with PATH train on same route, capacity 990 people per train, trains every 4 minutes, so theoretically 14,850 per hour. Actual PATH numbers are over 200,000 people per weekday (both directions).
