First year teacher here, coming from a completely different career, don’t let anyone talk you out of it! It has been the one of the most rewarding decisions I’ve ever made. Stressful, but so worth it! Follow your dreams, I wish I had done it sooner! And I agree, representation matters!

Nooooooooooooooooooo. Come back. Although I have some hard days and I see harder days from other colleagues, it’s the most rewarding career for me. 25 years later and I still get excited about my daily higher calling. Teaching is truly my passion.

I had a midlife crises, I left the business world of retail, became certified as a teacher. I worked as an instructional specialist and now as an administrator, All in Title I schools. It is the best decision I ever made! Students can be challenging and challenged in and out of the classroom to do things they never thought possible. Build relationships with them, they will surprise you. Yes, it is a calling, answer the call, you won’t regret it.

Teaching is not bad at all. It’s all the demands that are required of you, lesson plans, PD’s that are unnecessary, dress codes to abide by, etc

It's a career/job (do), not a personal identity (be). Go for it!!
