Our last post got pushback—lots of laughing emojis and people saying the parallel between raw chicken and raw milk is absurd. But why is that? Both can harbor identical pathogens—Salmonella, E. coli, and Campylobacter—that cause the same illnesses. Just as consumers find our chicken-milk comparison laughable, public health experts are equally bewildered by people willingly consuming raw milk despite documented risks.
