Did you know there were elevator operators it was a fullyime job for many, I’ve read how they organized strikes and second time round they installed buttons and all those who were on strikr were immediately part of the history - you don’t even realise it existed.. I think this is the transition - you are not even aware it was a job unless it was yours..

You only ever hear this utter crap from people who work in tech and actually don't give a flying f*** for the consequences of their actions. No-one in this insane, greedy, out-of-control industry ever stops to ask whether their actions are desirable or downright destructive. Hell, they even created the word "disruptor" to make it sound like destroying everything around them to line the pockets of a few billionaires was actually good! Jeez, these people need to be brought to heel.

I think it really depends on the industry. In places like manufacturing and logistics, automation has been moving pretty fast. For example, robots in Amazon warehouses are already taking over some of the tasks that used to require human hands.

Really? You don't think industrial robotics has replaced a single manual job in the last 41 years? The sales figures for them would suggest otherwise

Rooms like this of engineers are now a guy using AutoCAD. Similarly, room of accountants with those translucent green visors and desk lamps are replaced by a person using quickbooks. Rooms of typists before photocopiers. etc.

Jobs get replaced by all sorts of technology (how many horse whip makers are there now?) but usually the new tech generates more jobs than those lost as we can now do more overall.
