Yep. My daughter spent a year as an exchange student in Sydney, Australia and described the odysseys she and her fellow California students went on chasing rumors of Mexican restaurants that might be the real thing. (They never were.)

I always say that the further from Mexico, the worse the Mexican food!

Dude!!! I live in Spain and I miss proper Mexican food. It can certainly be found in the major cities, but, even there, they’re few and far in between. There are more Mexicans in some neighbourhoods of LA or Chicago than there are in all of Spain (~50,000).
